Getting to know a lot of people on the way to Stanley Park

Today was really about meeting a lot of different people from different countries, which was pretty cool.
Just like yesterday, me and my roommate Anelle decided to join the hostel activity. At first I was a bit worried since it was supposed to rain, but in the end the weather was just perfect.
We went to Stanley Park which is just a huge park northwest of Downtown Vancouver. The way there was actually quite beautiful, even though it was very long and exhausting. We didn't even rest after arriving at the park since our tour guide was on a tight schedule (he had to work at 4 PM) and someone really wanted to see the 'hollow tree'. It took us more than two and a half hours to get from the hostel to that tree, which really wasn't that special to be honest.
Nevertheless, the way was really lovely, I took a lot of pictures of birds and I had a lot of fun getting to know the other travellers on the tour. There was for example Alena from Germany, who had been to several asian countries before coming here (I still need to ask her about her blog!), as well as Eric from Saskatchewan (a Canadian province).
On the way back from the tree, we stopped at a beach to eat a snack (I ate a bagel, which I still had from my hostel's breakfast). Our tour guide and a few others left to go back to the hostel pretty quickly, however, the weather and everything there was so nice that I decided to stay a bit longer.
I walked back with Sarah from Chicago and Moses from Australia. We had fun taking a few more pictures before arriving back at the hostel.

After taking a quick shower (there was sand everywhere on me), I went out to see if I could find a summer hat somewhere since my head was starting to become kind of red from all the sun. Unfortunately, even though I checked about six shops, I couldn't find any decently priced hats that I liked.
In the evening, I decided to go and eat at the hostels bar/restaurant, the beaver. Since I joined the hostel activity, I was supposed to get 15% off of the regular menus. There were already a few people so I just joined a table. Since I felt like eating a burger, I ordered the 'Greek burger' with fries. The burger itself was pretty good, however, the fries were a bit dry. I also orded a 'Sex on the Beach' as I just felt like drinking something fancy. The two people already sitting at my table were from Washington (the US state) and somewhere close to Toronto. After the two left, Sarah and Moses joined me. Later on another Canadian who was just visiting some friends in Vancouver joined our table. I ordered a Cider and talked with those three until a beer pong tournament was supposed to start at the bar. Since I am not very fond of beer, I paid and left to go up to my room.
