As I didn't really know where to start in this big city, I decided to join the Greenwich Village tour offered by the hostel this morning. We left the hostel just past 10 AM and took the subway to Christopher Street. From here, we started by exploring the West Village, where we saw the exterior of the building from the tv show 'Friends' as well as many other historic buildings. We also walked through Washington Square and past the 'Comedy Cellar', which I had seen on the tv show 'Louie'. For lunch, we had a slice of pizza. Afterwards, we checked out the East Village. Our tour guide gave us a lot of information about tv shows, artists and famous bands that had started out in this neighborhood.
The tour was over around 3 PM and I decided to check out Union Square, as it wasn't too far from where the tour had ended. Afterwards, I went to Times Square. I thought about maybe getting tickets for a Broadway show, but the waiting line in front of the cheap ticket booth was very discouraging.
After walking around a bit more, I decided to go back to the hostel to have a snack. As the mouse au chocolat cake I had wanted to try wasn't available, I tried a chocolate cheesecake muffin instead. It was really extremely good, I think I have never had such a delicious muffin.
While eaiting my muffin, I went on a small walk to the exterior of the June's house from the tv show 'White Collar'. It was already getting dark outside but I didn't really mind as it was only about 10 minutes from the hostel On the way back to the hostel, I walked a bit through the Riverside Park.
