UBC and sushi

After getting the stuff I had left at the SWAP office, getting my new credit card and getting a phone plan this morning, I took the bus to the UBC - the University of British Columbia. Just like everything in Vancouver, it was surprisingly beautiful. There were colorful flowers and trees everywhere and you had a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains.
There was also a beach nearby. However, the way there was a bit exhausting, since there were a lot of steps and as I went down a bit further away from the main beach, I had to walk a while along the coast. There was no real path there, just a lot of big stones which made it hard to get to the real beach. It was still fun and the weather was nice, so I enjoyed the walk. However, getting back up to the campus area was the real challenge since this time, I had to walk the steps back up.
My new phone plan turned out to be a bit disappointing, since I didn't have any reception in that area. I'll have to keep an eye on that and maybe change it again tomorrow or so.
In the evening I met with Nienke, my former roommate here in Vancouver. It was nice seeing her again and we ate some sushi in the same place where we had eaten before.
